College Football: South Carolina Admits Violations, FSU Corner Out for Season
The University of South Carolina admitted to 10 NCAA violations yesterday, under former head football coach Lou Holtz. Of those 10 infractions, 5 of those were classified as major violations.
The report was conducted by the University and members of the NCAA enforcement staff, and has been forwarded onto the NCAA Committee on Infractions. - College Football -
The school found violations involving prospective student-athletes between 1999-2002. South Carolina was also found to have lack of institutional control. - College Football -
The school has proposed two years probation, a reduction from 56 to 50 paid campus visits for football recruits this year and next year, as well as a loss of two football scholarships for the 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 academic year. - College Football -
Florida State cornerback Antonio Cromartie will miss the 2005 season after tearing the ACL in his left knee during voluntary workouts in Tallahasse. Cromartie will have surgery next week, he was tied for second in the ACC with 4 interceptions and 2 defesive touchdowns.
